Second Career Volunteer
By Barbara Traynor
The Troy Book Makers | Non-Fiction
I meet Barbara through our mutual involvement in the International Women’s Writing Guild (IWWG) where I had announced the formation of my non-profit in order to reach interested women writers. Barbara was the first to reach out to me and after we chatted, she applied and she got a grant. In her book, she shares her own experience and her interviews with dozens of other people living the volunteering life. She also shares many tips and resources to make these years some of the very best of your life.
About the Author
This is a guide book about how to reframe retirement and discover ways to get what you need by giving back. You volunteer your skills; you give your time and you get lodging and meals and the camaraderie of like-minded people in diverse locations across the United States.
Barbara Traynor considers herself an expert on volunteering since living a “volunteer retirement lifestyle” for years. She contributes her administrative skills to non-profits to enhance her retirement income beyond Social Security alone. She has stitched moccasins in Alaska, canoed through alligators in the Everglades, and hiked the picturesque Buffalo River in Arkansas.
Let Barbara show you the way.
