Laura Wilson, MEd
By day, Laura is a healthcare strategist. But after hours, she loves to spend time with the written word. She reads across many genres and writes poetry and personal essays.
Her writing has been published in several literary journals including Snapdragon: A Journal of Art and Healing, The Compassion Anthology, Natchez Review and WomenKin. Laura’s short story, Hymns of Praise, was included in the anthology, Gratitude with Attitude.
Laura has a Master’s degree in Adult Education. She is certified in Transformative Language Arts by the Transformation Language Arts Network. This certification encourages the use of writing for personal and community growth.
She facilitated a long-running Writing as Spiritual Practice group and classes at the Montclair Adult School (Montclair, NJ). Laura also facilitates a monthly group for her congregation using writing as a tool for exploring members’ beliefs and values. Each month, the members write a reflection based on the congregational theme. During the meeting, they share their written work aloud to fuel a deeper understanding of that theme and what it means to each of their lives.
Laura is privileged to say that she has served as a reviewer for the Sisters-in-Script grant awards since their inception in 2009.
